I was a dog/cat groomer for 30 years. I worked in law enforcement for
17 years. I am an author and am on my third book. I wrote The Legacy of
Lassie, which is a collector's guide on Lassie memorabilia. I also wrote
The Romance of the Collie, which was nominated for an award by the Dog
Writers Association of America. I am currently writing a book called ...And, Of Course, Lassie, which is a 60th anniversary tribute to the long running Lassie show from 1954 - 1973. I worked in collie rescue, and still do
occasionally. I currently have 3 collies, which are all direct Lassie line collies.
I worked with Bob Weatherwax, owner and trainer of Lassie, and helped
him with breeding the Lassie line. I own Lassie 9's only son, among other
Lassie line dogs. I worked on a 2 1/2 year project to get all of the Lassie's
registered, which was accomplished in November 2013. Now all of the
Lassie's are AKC registered collies, all the way back to Lassie 1 from 1940.
I have 3 collies, 2 American Staffordshires, and 1 beagle, 3 cats, and 1
chicken.
I just finished a week's housesitting/petsitting job in Hanover and get
along well with all animals.
