There has not been a time in my life where I have not lived with cats! They are my favorite critter and I couldn't imagine my life without them. Currently, I am "owned" by 4 (2 boys, 2 girls) and am fostering 1 (female). The litter my foster cat was in was the first litter I had ever fostered, and I officially "failed" as a foster mom - we ended up keeping 1 of the adorable females :) Not sure I could ever risk fostering again or my husband (and other cats) might protest!

I'm a steadfast and dedicated cat lady. Whenever my cats fall ill I am on the phone to the vet ASAP. Recently, one of my cats needed 4 nights of treatment at Blue Pearl, which was an emotional roller coaster for me, but he seems to be recuperating nicely here at home now. Naturally I am watching him like a hawk! He also will require medication (pills) for he rest of his life and we have been giving him subcutaneous fluids for his kidney disease, which he has had for about 3 years now. I will pretty much do whatever I can within my power to keep him and my other one healthy - they're my "kids!" So, I am no stranger to cats with medical issues and am comfortable using needles for medication injections or sub-q administration.

I take my duties as a cat mom seriously and just love, love, love other cats, too. I'm a weekly volunteer at the local Petco where, on behalf of a local all-volunteer rescue group, I take care of the kitties who are on display at the store for adoption. I clean litter, refresh food and water dishes, and interact with them to make sure they aren't displaying health or behavioral issues. This is the same group I fostered a litter of kittens for, too. I can provide a reference, if needed.

I have, in addition, taken care of my parents' cats (6) when they are out of town and we've had no problems there. Being a little cat crazy does run in our family (thank you, mom). :)
