Hi! My name is Erin, and I am a 22-year-old animal enthusiast. I have had the honor of having an American Short Haired Guinea Pig, Harley, and a mix breed rescue rabbit, Pippin, as my own pets. I pride myself on having extensive knowledge of small pets and some exotics, and have frequently been the caretaker of a trio of Abyssinian guinea pigs and another American Short Haired guinea pig.
Growing up in my neighborhood, I was always asked to care for my neighbors dogs and cats when they went out of town. Most frequently, I cared for Sable, an aging German Shepherd who could move indoors and outdoors as she pleased. I often looked after Puddin and Scaredy, two primarily outdoor cats, as well. More recently, I've been looking after Holly, a spirited young Feist mix who tries her best to teeth on my sneakers while they're still on my feet.
Over the years, I became the go-to-gal in my circle of friends anytime someone needed animal help. I adore pets of all shapes and sizes, and more often than not can be seen playing on the ground with them while visiting a friend's house or at a neighborhood barbecue. My natural affinity for four-legged friends has earned me the moniker "animal fairy" and I think it suits me quite well. I truly believe that every animal deserves all of the love and respect we can provide them with in return for all of the smiles and listening ears they so readily give to us.
I adjust easily to new pets and their specific needs, and can keep my cool should an emergency situation arise. While I have read quite a bit about birds and reptiles, I have no hands on experience with them so far. However, I am still very willing to participate in their care should it be asked of me.
