I volunteer every week at a no-kill animal shelter and have been trained to work with the cats and kittens. I don't do as much work with the dogs at the shelter but I've grown up with and around dogs and love them and am very comfortable with them. You can say dogs were my first passion. I currently own two cats, one of which I adopted.

At the shelter, my responsibilities include:

Feeding (paying close attention to any special diets or food restrictions for each cat)
Cleaning litter boxes
Cleaning each cat's living spaces (scrubbing, sweeping and mopping each space)
Socializing the cats (interaction and play time is key for socializing each animal)
Special handling when the need arises

Although I have not been trained at the shelter to work with the dogs, I've been around them and had them my whole life. They were the first animal I fell in love with (how could I not?!). So again, I'm very comfortable with them and love them.
