My cat, Patience has the perfect name. In the past 8 years she has totally convinced me that I really am a cat lady, for the first time in my life. As a single divorcee with adult children away from home, Patience has been a wonderful companion.

She is not a lap cat, very independent and has taught me a lot about just doing things my way. She's taught me how not to give in to others so much, but to do what I want to do...as she does. I gave up years ago trying to convince her to sit on my lap, but instead, I'm quite happy when she hops on my bed, purrs as I rub her head, and then sleeps at my side.

Patience eats wet food twice a day and has healthy dry food available at all times in addition to filtered water. She has a soft bed under the end table in the living room and one under my bed, in addition to a cat tree in the window, but for the past year she has preferred to sleep in a shoe box.

With 8 years of experience of feeding, watering, brushing, cleaning her litter box, clipping her nails, cleaning her ears, visits to the vet for shots and anal gland expressions, I think she has trained me well enough to help out another cat lover.
