When I was in college, I was pre- Veterinary medicine, and while in the program was certified as a vet tech.  I soon realized that I wasn't emotionally cut out for Veterinary work, and ended up in Anthropology and English Lit, and ultimately working for wildlife conservation on a large scale in the DC area for environmental non-profits for the last 7 years.  While I am taking a break from my career to work on writing, advocacy, and media skills, I have lots of time for animal care.  I currently petsit for most all animals on my long street in Takoma Park, as well as petsit for my friends and family.  I also have two dogs, a hedgehog, and fish.  I have experience with special needs animals and exotics, including reptiles, amphibians, birds, and other wild animals!  My passion has, and always will be, animals.  They are my family, and I will always treat yours as family, too.
