About my Experience: I'm a student in the Minnesota School of Business' Veterinary Technology Program. I plan to graduate in June 2015 and become certified in August 2015 and pursue a career as a veterinary technician with a specialty in animal behavior. I've worked hands-on with dogs and cats from local shelters, doing everything from vaccinating and nail trims to assisting in surgery! I have also been trained (not certified) in animal CPCR during my courses at MSB.
I also volunteered at Tri-County Humane Society for about a year, where I looked after the cats, cleaned kennels, and helped introduce the shelter cats to positive reinforcement by rewarding sociable behavior. When needed, I would also assist customers with the dogs, supervising their time in the outdoor area.
I am a senior zoo keeper at Pine Grove Zoo in Little Falls, MN. My duties which ensure the well-being of the resident zoo animals include feeding, training, cleaning, maintaining exhibits, monitoring the behavior and health of the animals, prepping diets, and preparing stimulating enrichment items.

About me: I have been fascinated by animals throughout my life, and have chosen to turn my passion into a career. I have two cats, two guinea pigs, and a fancy rat in my home. I also take my mom's dog for her on the weekends... So you could say I have half a dog, too. As the title says, I love cats and have the most experience with them. However, I have looked after a dog in the past and have learned a lot about them through my education and volunteerism.
