I am a happily married, 44 yr. old, stay at home mom of two older children. We just relocated to Clayton in Nov. from Greenfield, MA due to my husbands new job at Harris Teeter. Recently we lost our beloved dog Rosie of 13 years. I miss the companionship and love that she gave to our family. I wanted to get back into the work force now that my children are grown and decided that providing other animals in need of caring would be a great way to honor Rosie (she was a rescued dog) and provide my family with some extra income. It would also be a great teaching opportunity for my 11 yr. old daughter, to see her mom get a job doing something she loves. Parenting is leading by example after all!

I have always had a dog (or two) in my family as well as chinchilla's, birds, cats, rabbits, fish and various lizards and turtles. I have many years experience caring for pets including training, bathing, grooming, administering medication, exercising/walking, as well as giving them love and attention.

I fully understand that finding the right person to care for your pet is a big decision. They are family members. I could never leave my Rosie with just anyone when we went on vacation. They have to bond with your pet, make them feel safe and cared for, give them the love and affection they are use to getting from their owners while they are away. You also need to trust the person with your home as well. They need to be responsible, reliable, trustworthy, have good communication skills. They have to be willing to be flexible and provide what the pet needs in order to keep them healthy and happy, for example a longer walk or more play time.

I can provide all of these things and more. I am a nurturer and caregiver by nature. I worked in the daycare field for many years, I have taken care of animals my entire life and will continue to do so. It would be great to make this a career!

We live in a three bedroom apartment complex that accepts pets. We have a fenced dog park on-site as well for any over night visits. We also live near the Greenway which is great for long walks with the dogs! We will be purchasing a house this year in Clayton (we love this town!) which will have a dog friendly fenced back yard.

Prices on some aspects of care will vary depending on location. I would like to stay as close to Clayton as possible but I am willing to travel.
