Honestly, my experience is with my own pets. I have created a profile so I can respond to an ad from indeed.com
But do I have experience around animals? Yes. Do I love animals? Yes.
All of my pets are rescue animals - I have bunnies, and birds.
Each of them has their own story of how they made it to my doorstep.
A few of my beautiful critters have passed on, and yes, the sadness
is awful, but the happiness I've had with them far outweighs the sad.
So why have I not been a professional critter sitter if I love animals
so much? Didn't have the financial flexibility to do so.
Everyone has experienced the financial strain in their lifetime - mine
has not lifted to work an afternoon here, or a couple of days there
taking care of animals - certainly wouldn't cover the mortgage.
So why now? Because it's near the end of the financial strain.
In addition to what I've done for my own pets:
I have rescued animals, found wildlife vets, and got the animals to the
care they need.
I have created info packets before Eastertime to inform parents of kids
who want bunnies - that they are a real committment, not a passing fancy. Sadly, Easter is the worst time of the year for bunnies - so I have
contributed as many years as possible at my own expense to get the
information out.
I've done smaller projects in benefit of animals; and have been an avid
petition signer with varied organizations fighting for animal rights.
