I have over 25 years experience training dogs and caring for dogs, cats, and other small mammals, both in my home and that of my client's.

I am a balanced trainer utilizing very consistent, positive, fun, reward based techniques with dogs learning new skills or behaviors. For most dogs, this approach is highly effective, even those requiring modification of some undesirable behavior (jumping, door darting, hyper-excitement levels, etc). However, I am also trained in the proper use of more control oriented equipment (muzzles, training collars) and corrective techniques for dogs for whom the strictly positive approach does not accomplish necessary behavior modification, especially for highly reactive/aggressive animals whose behavior may present a danger to people or other animals.

I have also volunteered in animal rescue for over 15 years, fostering and training in excess of 100 dogs of varying breeds & temperaments. Through these efforts, I have garnered extensive experience working with anxious, fearful or reactive/aggressive dogs and have had great success helping them become more balanced and calm.

My experience as a trainer has provided me with the skills to quickly establish a warm, comfortable relationship with client's pets so that I can care for them while their owner is away in the calmest, most stress free manner.

In addition, I am canine first aid/CPR certified and am skilled in the administration of medications for both dogs and cats, including those given via injection.

In the years just before moving to New Jersey, I was both a dog trainer and the Resort Manager for a dog daycare/boarding/grooming facility in Myrtle Beach, SC.
