In 2004 my mother bought a home next to the people that would inevitably give me my first pet sitting job as well as giving me the nickname as being their, "Kritter Keeper". It started with them and then onto their neighbors and then friends of the family, clients and colleagues of family or close friends and here I am 14 years later.
I realized years ago that our pets are extensions of our family; our loved ones; and our friends. I love animals! I love how they each have their own personalty as well as characteristics and are just like people or children at times.
It is an honor as well as a privilege to be considered in caring for anyone's furry family member. I have had clients who have me come to do visits a couple of times a day to clients that prefer I stay in their home while they are away. I've always found that animals are more comfortable in their own familiar environments; their beds, toys, food, medications, as well as comfort in their familiar routines and home. I do my best to keep to their routine and daily schedule.
I've had a lot of experience in caring for all different types of animals from chickens to hairless rats, to dogs and cats, yet I still learn something new all of the time. I've got keys to homes in case of emergencies and I have clients that have me return their keys to them as soon as they return home. Everything depends upon you and your specifications.
