I was that kid growing up always coming home and asking my mom "Can I keep it?" I grew up in an animal-loving family with a state park as my backyard where I spent most of my time exploring, learning to appreciate nature, and becoming knowledgeable on its wildlife. My parents graciously let us house many of the creatures we caught but not without the proper care and respect for each of them. We raised tadpoles every summer, had countless turtles - many of which we rehabilitated, frogs, snakes, salamanders, fish, caterpillars, mice, rabbits, hamsters, and many others. I have spent a lot of my time working with animals at animal sanctuaries, rehabilitation centers, nature centers, for school projects, pet sitting for nearly all my neighbors, and enjoyed every second of it. I currently of two little buddies of my own: my cat, Lyla and my hedgehog, Hippo.
