I have lived with both cats and dogs for most of my life, often as the primary caregiver. I've had four house-sitting stints from late high school through college, the longest for nearly a month as a family went on vacation and left their five cats with me, the others for about a week each.

Right now I'm in a weird limbo due to a complicated family situation that brings me from the sunny deserts of Phoenix to the snowy hills of Corning for what could end up being several months. Left in Arizona with my cat-loving roommate are two beautiful furry boys aged about nine months, baby kittens when I adopted them and young adults the next time I'll see them. Here in upstate New York I care for and live with two golden retrievers who love to have snowball fights and chase deer, two 7-month-old feline sisters who enjoy climbing on people and ninja-attacking each other, and an adult cat who is convinced that she is golden retriever #3 (or #1 in the social order).

I'm normally a high school teacher and have a humanities MA from Penn State. I'm also an Eagle Scout. I can be trusted.
