I am a pet rescuer for over 20 yrs. I keep and rehab most of them myself. I have learned valuable skills including assessing hydration status and ability to administer fluids subcutaneously, assessing bladder fullness on cats and knowing if an emergency is indicated for urinary obstruction, administration of meds, including opiate and others requiring injection per subcutaneous route, ability to assess general illness, and pilling. I worked for Dr. Hanson Animal Hospital in late 1970's. Currently, I provide dog walking and sitting, and housekeeping for one family for almost 2 yrs. They are relocating and I am seeking ongoing pet care and / or pet sitting. I enjoy getting on all 4's with my doggies and playing with them. As a cat parent for 30 yrs, I understand cat play as well. They usually prefer boxes, tissue paper, and un cat toys !!! As a volunteer for Purrfect Friends, I cleaned cat areas and provided education and adoption information at Petco in Hyde Park. I understand animals better than humans !!!
Will bring in garbage cans, mail, and water flowers. I also provide a written daily report regarding pet potty habits, appetite, pet playfulness and mood, and any health issues to keep pet parent informed. References available upon request. Could not enter my availability under profile constraints; my current position ends approximately mid June until mid July depending upon client's relocation schedule. I will be seeking to work after this deadline. Will update deadline as client updates me. Currently, end date is in limbo.
