Greetings! One of my fondest pet memories was helping to raise two litters of Norwegian Elkhound puppies during my childhood and raising my own Doberman. I am an active playmate and caregiver for neighborhood pets and enjoy walking dogs. For the past 18+ years, I've lived in Salem w/my husband (of 35 years) and kids ages 17 & 21. At home I care for a host of pets: A calico cat and four frisky-adorable small mammals. My daughter boards her beautiful horse and I'm hoping to continue my English equestrian lessons very soon. I am an Experienced Caregiver and currently a Licensed & Certified Educator (w/a stringent background check) which is mandatory w/TSPC (Teacher Standards & Practices Commission) of Oregon. The background check includes FBI fingerprinting and additional critical law enforcement background analysis. I am Certified by the American Red Cross in: Advanced Child Care Training & Pediatric First Aid w/Infant, Child & Adult CPR/AED. I've earned a BA in Psychology & Master's Degree in Special Education and have taught for 20+ years. Locally, I volunteered as a Swimming Instructor for four years @ the YMCA; tutored at Sylvan Learning Center and taught within the Salem-Keizer School District for seven years.
I see myself as very dependable/trustworthy, intuitive, a good listener, active, outgoing, easy to talk with and very flexible w/pet parent's requests. Regarding the feeding schedule and/or playtime routine, I believe consistency is very crucial, as well as -always adhering to the parent's wishes. I am excited to learn more about your pet's special personality, disposition and cuteness factor! Most importantly, I believe in open, honest and ongoing communication w/pet parent(s). This is especially important regarding priorities for your pet's routine, unique needs and preferences. To me, careful attention to details ~is the paramount key to securing a good match/connection between special pet, caregiver and pet parent(s). Rest assured, I am absolutely respectful of each family's belongings, house, privacy and home security. My ultimate goal as a Pet Sitter is to provide you with total piece of mind. In addition, I will provide your beloved pet w/quality companionship, consistency and contentment, which I would interpret as your "four-legged child(ren)," enjoying a peaceful kind of happiness, in one's own familiar surroundings!
