Laura’s Bio

My husband, a retired LTC, have had pets all of our lives. We love them but feel that this is not a good time in our lives to fill the hole that Kelly left in our lives a couple of years ago when she had to be put down due to many complications related to being a 13-year-old dog. We plan do to some extensive overseas travel during our retirement as long as our health permits. We would like to go to a different country each year and stay in one place for one month. The thought of traveling both at home and abroad is very appealing to us, but having to leave a family member behind for weeks at a time does not seem like the ideal life for a new pet. For this reason, I would be happy to take care of your pet while you are away from home and need a safe, happy home for him. My husband has just recently retired from his second job at University Hospital where he worked in the Performance Improvement Department. I spent the last 10 years of my work life as a public school teacher in Columbia and Aiken counties in Augusta, GA and North Augusta, SC right across the river. I had also taught Spanish in Chesterfield County, VA as well as at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City Tn. As you can see, we have moved around a lot and plan to continue exploring this beautiful country RVing from State Parks to National Parks paddling along smooth lakes, and riding bikes on the "rails made into trails" wherever we can find them along the way. We have 8 grandchildren, and a highlight of our lives is getting to enjoy time with them. (In all fairness to the grandkids, we love it when they come and rejoice then they have to go home. We find grandkids to be much noisier, expensive, demanding, and high upkeep in general than your furry friend!
Our son is a veterinarian at UTK Knoxville, and one advantage that we have is free advice available to us at all times regarding the appropriate care for your pet in any give situation if an emergency should arise while under our care. We want you to rest assured that your pet will be in good , safe and trustworthy hands while you enjoy your time away from home
