Interview went fine. I asked her if she had any other interviews set up and she said, "No." We agreed upon pay, I hired her and stopped searching.
We were in a time crunch to hire and have things settled because we were
leaving town for a week and a half and needed to get something set up before we left.
I tried to get her over to do a run through before we left town. Try to start the comfortablility with her and my child. She was not able to.
I asked her to email me refreneces which she agreed to and she did not until I texted her again almost a week after the interview.
After sending refrences she sent a text letting me know she was setting up another interview and would let me know her decision asap.
Later sending me a text saying it would be another 3 days before the decision was made.
I said nevermind.
I understand wanting to search and keep your options open but one extremely important part of being a good baby sitter (of course after love and care for your child), especially if you are a working parent, is reliability.
This behaviour also shows a lack of consideration for what working mothers/fathers go through. How can one be a good helper when lacking this sort of empathy?
