Giving a 3 star rating for Abby because apparently Sittercity does not publicly share a lower rating. That is extremely alarming to me. Abby was great with our kids however, when a situation arose where she needed to be gone, she failed to communicate with us her plans when it was determined that the situation wasn’t quite as dire as originally thought. I reached out to her to see if she knew her plans so that I in turn could make mine, and I got no response after three separate attempts over a two day period. Only after having to take further measures to reach her, did she respond. By this point, I had already determined that her sort of irresponsibility I’m that manner was not something I wanted around my kids. She was otherwise punctual, energetic and playful with the kids and did as requested. Extremely disappointing. We had discussed explicitly, upon interviewing her, the importance of communication, but in this case I believe maturity played a tremendous factor. If you need a periodic sitter, she’d be a good one. Long term type situation where you need to be able to depend on someone, I’d steer clear.
