I have always loved animals! Growing up I was always surrounded by them, when I was very young I had fish and as I become older and my parents saw that I was becoming more responsible, they let me have hamsters and rabbits. My grandfather who lived across the street always had dogs; I would take them on walks, feed and play with them. He also had chickens and roosters and I would help collect the eggs and take care of them. 
More recently I care for 3 cats that a family in my neighborhood have whenever they go on vacation. During high school I picked up a stray puppy in my neighborhood and took care of it until I was able to find the owner. I took the puppy to the vet to see if it had a microchip and found out it was a 5-week-old Rottweiler. I started potty training the dog by using treats and potty pads. My family and I put up found posters around our neighborhood and we were able to reunite the pup with its owner.
My philosophy with animals is to kind of treat them like little kids- you have to feed them every couple of hours, give them water, let them run and play, reward them when they are good and have certain rules they have to follow.
