I enjoy taking walks/jogs on the trail and anything involving activities regarding being in environment. I go for walks twice a day for at-least 3 to 5 miles. I also enjoy making arts and crafts along with reading. I just graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in psychology and a minor in human science and family development. I intend to because a Behavior Analyst, which is an individual that works with children and students that implements behavioral-analytic plans and treatments. My minor is based upon child development of all ages, and using my knowledge from the observing classrooms and working with children, the same techniques can be applied to being an amazing sitter. I love being apart of the development of children of all ages, and understand the importance of being attentive, responsive, patient, and understanding at this crucial age. I have the ability to organize schedules regarding meals, and planning out daily activities for the children ( based on their preference/interests). Play is a crucial factor of childhood, that increases cognitive and motor skills along with imagination. I want to be the sitter that the children do not want me to leave after. I also want them to know that I respect them, because a child will not listen to your requests without creating a relationship of care and respect, first. Also just like adults, children often have bad days too, which is very understanding. I also would like to enforce self-regulation, letting the children know if they are sad and not feeling their best, it is okay to express the emotions with me. Children are not miniature adults. I know I can give the children the comfort they deserve, and attentiveness to when expression of positive and negative feelings when necessary.
