Hello! My name is Maria and I’m a senior at San Diego State University. I'm a Liberal Studies major with an emphasis on elementary education because I hope to one day have the privilege to work with and inspire children on a daily basis. I’ve received my associates degree and I plan on earning my bachelor's degree within the next year . To offer some background information about me: my mom has been a teacher for 19 years, so I have been around children for as long as I can remember. I love being around children so much that it soon became a passion of mine and a career that I want to pursue. I have volunteered at several elementary schools in the San Diego School District; these experiences have given me the opportunity to work in a diverse environment with children of all races and ages. She interacted with my child and would do extra if I ever asked. Unfortunately, the only problem I found was she wasn’t great at communicating and lead to misunderstandings. We did try to work things out but it wasn’t sufficient from what it looks like. Overall she’s good.
