My name is Judy Kraner and I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 35 years working with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. I began this profession while I was still in high school. I started babysitting on then in my Jr year of high school got my first job at a preschool doing afternoon daycare. I eventually left that job and went to work at the Farm School in Woodland Hills where I worked afternoon daycare. My director encouraged my to get my ECE units so I could become a credentialed preschool teacher. I completed my 15 units at West Valley Occupational Center in Woodland Hills getting my ECE Certificate. I then proceeded to work at the Farm School for over 20 years working with all children 2 through Kindergarten. I left in 2001 as I school was being sold. It was Read more a sad parting as I spend most of my life there. I have made wonderful friendships with many children and families, some whom I am still friends with. When I left the Farm School I went to work at Onegeneration in Van Nuys as a two year old teacher. This is an Intergenerational program combining children with seniors. After several years teaching two year old I switched to the Infant program working with infants 6 weeks to 1 year. I found this to be my calling. I love the Infant room. It is amazing to be their first teacher and see how far they've grown. During this time, I went back to Pierce College and completed my ECE classes and received my certificate in Preschool, Infant/Toddler studies and my Directors class. After 10 years at Onegeneration, I left to work at a small preschool full time in Northridge as an Infant/ Toddler teacher where I still am now. Our typical day begins with a circle time and stories. I love reading to my students. It is one of my favorite things to do with them. We do a simple art project, outdoor play, lunch,nap and many snacks through out the day. I can' t see myself doing anything other than working with children.

Judy is so sweet, patient and calm. She has spent her entire career in child care, which is why I feel I could trust her in an emergency. She has been caring for my infant twins and 3-year-old for the better part of a year and I trust her completely. She is reliable, always on time and cleans up at the end of the day. She is fun and my 3-year-old enjoys playing with her. Judy is the best!
