Charlie accepted a full-time position with our family. Prior to her start, one of the requirements we discussed was a minimum 6 month commitment in order to provide consistency for our 9 month old. After her first day, Charlie called in sick. Three days later (and only after I followed up) she informed us that she had taken another position. Additionally, she let us know that she’d be unable to watch our son on the days she had agreed to that very week (in order to attend training for her new job) so we were left to find a replacement the week of. The situation was handled very unprofessionally, and I hope that Charlie will take caring for peoples’ children more seriously and with greater care and intentionality in the future.
