I am a very lucky uncle of 9 nieces and nephews who feels I am best suited for a career in childcare. When it comes to interaction with children I can go from playing ball to doing hair and nails. There is no activity within the imagination of a child that I cannot and will not participate in. I spent 6. 5 years with the federal government and another year in market research but never felt I was doing anything fulfilling or that interest me. I am someone who enjoys cooking, so meal prep is no problem for me if you also need help with that as well. I have chosen childcare as a career for two reasons; I want to provide the same fun and care for children that I received growing up, and I believe there are not enough positive male figures in the lives of children. I Read more myself did not have any male role models outside of immediate family until I reached high school which lead me to believe the false narrative that taking care of children is for women only. I am an advocate for learning and feel that a child's learning process should never be hindered based on what society feels is "normal."
