Hello families! My name is Amanda, I'm 24, and am looking to move to the Portland area within the next month or two. Currently I reside in Northern Arizona, but I'm smitten for the city and have found that Portland is the perfect meld between nature and metropolitan life. At the moment, I work as a teacher's assistant at an accredited 5 star lab preschool at my local community college. I have experience with children as young as 5 months and connect well with all age groups, even teens! People often tell me that my passion for children and their development is very visible — I practically glow when I talk about it. I'm extremely passionate about Early Childhood Education and am certified to care and participate in a professional environment. My plan is transition from working at a school to working more one on one with families in the Read more home. My teaching style is very holistic and child-interest based. In the classroom I'm known for breaking out the glue and construction paper. I also have experience with neurodiverse children and special needs. (Especially those which are undiagnosed, as many children under 5 are not.)
