Hi my name is Jennifer Shepler, I am 21 years old, currently not in school and working as a part-time nanny seeking more consistent employment. I am the second oldest girl in a family with 6 kids, I grew up helping my mom out around the house and with my younger siblings, eventually I began babysitting as an extra source of income throughout my teen years on top of part time jobs during high school. When I was 16 I began working as a camp counselor with Jupiter Pointe Marinas "Splash Camp" as I have been for the past three summers, supervising children from the ages of 7-14, each counselor was assigned a group of 5 to 7 children to oversee, so multitasking/watching multiple children at once is not a problem. It immediately became the best job I’d ever had in my eyes and I quickly realized that I had Read more quite the knack for communicating and getting along great with the kids. Working there was ideal for someone like me because it's a very adventurous camp right on the intracoastal, we have many water-oriented activities and most of the counselors like myself are well informed on our ocean, channels, and its processes so it makes it very fun as well as educational. As a person I am athletic, outgoing and friendly, many of the children I work with have told me that their favorite thing about me is my ability to speak with them so easily and openly. I am organized and a very fast learner. I am a healthy and enthusiastic person, advocating a nutritious lifestyle and being involved and active with the kids is my favorite part of the job. I like to skateboard, surf, hike, rollerblade, do yoga, and enjoy other outdoor activities and sports. I don't encourage fast food or too much junk food. I am a very clean, well-rounded person so I try to teach only the best in eating/sleeping/hygienic habits. I enjoy being a high-spirited, fun-loving person and I think that's what kids like about me most. I believe it’s important to be interactive with them and truly invested in whether or not they're having fun while still learning and being productive.
