LOCATION: Hopkins
DAYS: M - F
HOURS: 3:00pm- 7:30pm
PAY: $18 per hour, plus bonuses at 3,6, and 12 months.
AGE: 7 (boy)
DUTIES: Homework help and monitoring while my son independently prepares meals and completes evening chores. This is a teach/coach, not do position as my son is highly trained and independent at completing his own tasks. He just needs coaching for emotional regulation and reminders stay on task as he’s easily distracted. He is encouraged to learn by doing it himself while he is monitored for safety as he is often motivated by having independent responsibility.

NEEDS: My son has special needs with a diagnosis of ADHD and social anxiety. While some days are fairly easy and he is just like a normal kid showing little to no symptoms, there are other days when my son needs someone who can walk him through his calming techniques when he has big emotions. He also needs someone who is patient, calm mannered, and understanding. During rough times he will need to be reminded to grab a fidget toy when angry and/or start an art project which will help him calm down enough to discuss what happened and what to do instead next time. While he doesn’t have any violent outbursts, he still needs someone who can process his emotions with him through dialogue once the big emotions have passed.
