Hello! My name is Kaitlyn, I am 23, and I am a current nursing student (BSN) at Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa. Experience: I have been babysitting/nannying since I was 12 years old. I grew up as a daughter of a principal, so I knew many people and many people knew of me, landing me many babysitting opportunities. In high school, I worked at an after school babysitting program in a classroom ranging from kids 5-10 years and I absolutely loved it. I currently am working at two different nursing homes as a CNA (an every other weekend position and also an 'as needed' position) between balancing school and clinicals. Before accepting my second nursing home position, I worked at Montessori, a day care located in Cedar Falls in an infant room. I worked there for six months and was sad when I had to quit due to an upcoming Read more surgery. I still continue to babysit every now and then for my cousins (ranging from infant to 6 years old) and my neighbors. Certifications: As I mentioned, I work two very part-time jobs in nursing homes. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and am CPR certified. I also am far enough in school that I am above an LPN level. About Me: Like I said I am a nursing student, and I absolutely love it. I love the critical thinking and problem solving involved and the aspect that I am helping people at their most vulnerable times. I am an honor student, participate in Nursing Christian Fellowship, volunteer often, and also serve as the Love Your Melon Crew Captain through my school. In the future, I would like to get a job in the pediatric OR then look more into traveling nursing. I love to do artsy things like painting and also spend as much time as I can outside. Before finding my niche in nursing, I was a business student who interned at John Deere which was a great experience. This is also why I am still working on my bachelors, it took me a couple tries to find a major that perfectly suits me. I am a people-person, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask! I am looking for a Monday - Friday babysitting position for this summer (2018). I am willing to work in the Cedar Falls area.
