I've always loved working with children. One of my favorite memories from middle school is helping to direct a local theater play with kindergarten-age children. The joy in their faces working on that project helped confirm my wishes to work with kids. I've babysat whenever my family friends have needed it, and not once has their been an issue. My pride in working with kids comes from a three-year stint at the Galaxy Youth Center in Grinnell, IA. Usually with only two staff, I took care of 15-25 kids per day (the center ran from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM). It was very fulfilling, and I made personal connections with each child while maintaining professionalism. I'm a high school graduate currently studying to become a journalist at Drake University. I'm CPR and AED certified and have upwards of three years of experience working with children. My mother is an elementary school teacher Read more which has helped foster my excellence in child-care.
