Hello, I am Tia Cunningham and I've recently located here to MD from Charlotte, NC. There I attended Queens University of Charlotte, NC as a music therapy major and minored psychology. I also am a homeschool facilitator of my own homeschool named OrangeMoon Academy: A World School. I have had extensive training and experience working with special needs populations from group home setting, one-on-one community, home-based intervention to formal music therapy settings implementing various forms of therapeutic approaches. I have experience working with every level of functioning individual from severely physically impaired to highly functioning individuals on the Asperger's and savant autism levels. I am comfortable working with individuals who have seizures, behavioral challenges (severe in some cases) and their families who must navigate the daily activities of their love ones. I also have several family members with diagnoses ranging from schizophrenia to severe depressive disorders. I am currently a Read more facilitator of my own homeschool located in North Carolina and have experience with unschooling (interest based learning) and coordinating learning systems to suit an individual's preferred learning styles, afterschool care and other specified childcare needs per family requests.
