Hi, I'm Desiree! Working with children is a true passion of mine that has always come naturally. There's nothing like watching a child experience new things and aid them in their growing development, it's such a rewarding feeling. I have been working with children, specializing in infants and toddlers since 2007. Leading up to my move to Oregon, I worked for 5 years at a teen parent program on a high school campus. I have specialty with newborns, which is why my boss called me the "baby whisperer". Within those years I have cared for both infants and toddlers ranging from newborn to 3 years old, with the youngest being only 12 days old. I have also worked with triplets and children with special needs. Since moving I have spent my time being a nanny for one sweet little girl. I have spent almost six months with her, however the Read more family's needs and schedule has changed and their daughter enrolled at a child care center this month. With school, I am currently looking for part-time work, occasional care, or one time help. I love to sing, nurture, and do a variety of arts. I like to explore and think it's vital for children to be outdoors. I am up to date in CPR and am able to administer medication and first aid. I have taken 9 child development classes, totaling 27 units. I have great recommendations from my boss, the director of the child development center I work at, as well as a fellow coworker. I am willing to show you the letters of recommendations if you would like. I am currently continuing my education at Portland Community College and will transfer to Portland State in 2018 to get my bachelor's in Social Work. My end goal will be to get a Master's in Social Work to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I want to work with children who have endured hardships, I believe all children deserve a chance to become successful and happy in life and for that to happen each child needs to know that someone cares and believes in them.
