Hello, my name is Cynthia. I am a 35 year old stay-at-home mother to a wonderful 8 year old boy. I am looking to take on another child or family to babysit. I currently have a 1 year old girl full-time, and occasionally have my 5 year old step-daughter. I am willing to take all ages birth through elementary aged. We live in the Red Lion School District and have a bus stop for Pleasant View at our driveway, so even if you're only looking for before/after school care, this is the perfect place! I don't want to take on too many children as I believe they all deserve individualized attention and care. I believe in caring for the children entrusted to my care as though they were my own. I believe in hands-on play and learning versus just plopping kids down in front of the tv. We have an Read more abundance of books, toys, boardgames, paper, crayons, playdough, and a huge backyard for plenty of outdoor play. I believe in learning through play and working with each child at their own pace. I know extremely basic ASL as I am learning it as I teach it to and use it with the 1 year old that I watch full-time. I am experienced working with some special needs, and following instructions from therapists. Also, I am willing to help out in your quest to potty train. A bit about us...we have a 2 year old dog who just adores kids and loves meeting new people. My husband works at home from his office in the basement, and was previously a Maryland State Trooper. I studied Secondary Mathematics and Music Education in college, so helping with homework is no problem. I have a clean driving record. I do have a current federal criminal history background check, and am in the process of renewing my other clearances. I am certified with CCIS. Additionally, I do provide meals, snacks and beverages for those children who do not need special food. If you have an infant, you would have to provide formula, bottles, diapers, baby food, etc. Also, if your child is not yet potty trained, you would have to provide pull-ups. We do keep sensitive skin baby wipes on hand. Also, we have both 2% and Almond milk. . I am more than willing to work with you if there is a food allergy/sensitivity. I do smoke cigarettes; however, I do not smoke in the home, car, or around children. I would consider coming to your home; we would need to discuss particulars. More likely than not, I would bring my son, and it would have to be evenings or weekends; no more than 10 miles from my home.
