For over 25 years, I have worked in the social services field. I have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and have always loved working with people. Coursework for my degree included Early Childhood Development, Human Learning, and Intervention Techniques. My approach with children is positive, patient, calm, quiet, and directive. In my past positions, I have been responsible for completing comprehensive assessments with parents to determine needs then make appropriate referrals to community resources. Other work experience includes giving riding instruction to children ages 8-17 years old both independently and at a Girl Scout summer camp. I also worked as a Classroom Paraprofessional and Track and Field coach at a local high school. For over five years, I worked in residential treatment facilities with children who had psychiatric and/or behavioral needs. Although I have not worked as an adult in a paid position as a baby sitter or caregiver, Read more many of my past work experience has been with children and I have been around children most all of my life. Playing with children, teaching, and watching their individual growth is exciting to me. There is no greater pleasure than to watch a child's expression when they recognize an accomplishment. I would be honored to work as a baby sitter or nanny and share my knowledge and experience. I am willing to complete a background check prior to employment.
