Before leaving high school, I took an early childhood education class where my peers and I would create a schedule of daily activities and tie it into the lesson plan for the preschool class held on campus. Not only did we teach the children things from sharing with others to learning ABC's, we learned how to resolve disagreements in an effective manner and adapt to every mood/emotion kids go through in a day. After graduating high school, I worked part time in the nursery of a church in the Madrona area, which included infants and children up to 4 or 5 years old. I'm very much grateful these parents have allowed me to care for their children and further grow as a babysitter/nanny through experience. In addition, I'm also a mother to a one year old boy, and care for his ten year old half-brother as well - whom I Read more met just after his 5th birthday :) Being a parent to two energetic little ones, I understand how hectic the day can get when you're trying to conquer the world with one hand (because your kids are tugging on the other).
