I have primarily worked with ages 3 months to 5 years. I am really passionate about playing outside in nature, reading stories, imagination and creativity, demonstrating thoughtfulness and compassion, and exploring a child's natural interest. Hello, I hope everyone is blessed! My name is Dawn Nguyen. I have a bachelors degree in social work. I am currently not working because I am on disability. However, my disabilities absolutely do not inhibit me from caring for children in anyway. I have so many years experience working with children from ages infant to 18 years of age. I grew up with parents that enjoyedcaring for foster children in our home, as well as adopting someof them. This was a passion that my Christian parents had since they were married. My brother and sister were both adopted as infants. I started working with youth and young children at the age of 13, at a Christian Academy in Florida. I did afterschool care after my own schooling. I did this until I was 18 years old. I went to school to become a bachelor of social work. I then went on to work with child protective services, which is called the Department of children and families in Florida. I worked for them for several years and then I went on to become a Juvenile Probation Officer. I then went on to try something new, which was an office manager at a lawn maintenance and landscaping company which I enjoyed very much and worked there for several years. In 2017 I broke my back in an accident and could no longer work a job. I miss working working and interacting with children very much. This is my calling in life. This is my second nature. This is my Christian Colin what Jesus has called me to do and my hobby is enriching children’s lives through interaction and cognitive learning. I would also like to add that in between jobs I substituted for about 10 years often on. I substituted from ages kindergarten through 18 years of age. I enjoy the little ones I’m substituted the little ones the most which is kindergarten through ages 12, including those that were disabled.
