My husband and I are "empty nesters". I miss the joy and fun of being around children. I was a nanny throughout college and currently sit for friend and family when needed. I am considered the "fun aunt" by my nieces and nephews.

I have a degree in Elementary Education, am CPR and First Aid certified, and work full time as the 3K lead teacher at a church preschool. I am also working towards my CDA in preschool through the school which I am employed. I began babysitting when I was around ten, first as a "junior" babysitter for my sister and mother, and then alone as I got older. I have over 20 years experience babysitting children from infants through middle school age, and have worked in a childcare setting for 15 of those years. I also volunteered working with the youth at my church in the past, mostly with middle school girls. Although some ages and personalities are more challenging than others, I always find it rewarding working with children. They see the joy and wonder in things we take for granted, and I am always learning something from them. I love music and reading, as well as doing arts and crafts, playing games, and baking. Since I work full time during the week, I am only available weekends and evenings.

I am 21 years old and I grew up with 7 younger brothers and 4 younger sisters. I've grown up in a house full of kids so I am used to the excitement and messes of children. I have babysat for years when my parents were busy or at work. I also babysat a few other kids after I turned 15, one which was the sweetest little boy I've ever met. He did have autism and it was a little tricky to always make him happy but I tried the best I could and we always had a great time. I currently live on my own so I am capable of cooking, cleaning, doing laundry or running errands. I plan on having children of my own within the next few years so I would love to get as much experience as I can with other kids. Although I have a lot of siblings and that should be enough experience, not every kid is the same. I would love to be able to help parents as much as I can because I know when I become one I'm gonna need that help sometimes too.
