I grew up around kids for as long as I could remember. I started helping my mom babysit children at the age of 9. I also started taking care of kids over the weekend at the age of 12. I would help my sisters take care of their kids while they were working, and I was on school break. Taking care of kids brings me so much peace and happiness because I really enjoy being around them. I pretended to fall asleep, and she whispered, “Good job, you're doing great!” It was the cutest thing ever, holding back my laughter was very hard haha! The most important part about being a nanny… Being a nanny is really about building strong, trusting relationships with the kids you care for. It's important to create a warm, supportive environment where they feel safe to grow and learn. Having fun and playing together isn’t just enjoyable it’s also a great way to bond and help them learn new things. You’re also a role model, so the way you act helps shape their values. Staying in good communication with parents makes sure everyone’s on the same page. And since every day can bring something new, being patient and flexible really helps. In the end, being a nanny means offering care, support, guidance and making sure there’s lots of fun along the way.
