I’m the former founder, director and owner of one of Chicago’s most prestigious day schools, where I served thousands of children and mentored hundreds of teachers over three decades. In 2020, my husband and I sold our school to Bright Horizons (coincidentally, the parent company of SitterCity.) After the acquisition, I joined the Bright Horizons corporate side for 18 months, I retired early and moved to Fountain Hills. In my “retirement,” I spent one year “back in the game” directing the Early Childhood Department at the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center (185 kids + 68 teachers.) When available, I enjoy providing occasional babysitting or “back up care” for whenever your child cannot attend school (including sick care) or when your nanny is sick or otherwise calls in. I can often accommodate your Nanny’s vacations, as well. Additionally, I can provide Nanny Management; assisting with issues, conflict resolution, training, mentoring, lesson planning, baby-proofing, nursery set-up, age appropriate modifications, observation and more. When babysitting, I come prepared with an arsenal of fun: activities, books, music, crafts, games, etc. In most cases, I require a 6 hour minimum shift, I also provide overnight or multi-day 24hr care while you travel. (I can even travel with you, if my schedule allows.) My rates are firm at min $35/hour for the first child; rates for multiple children negotiated on an individual basis. Daily & overnight rates for 24hr overnight care are also negotiable and curated individually. I am fully vaccinated (Pfizer) and receive all boosters and flu/rsv shots. *Also, CPR/AED + First Aid certification valid through 3/2027 + I hold an AZ Level 1 (highest level) fingerprint card. Hello my name is Andrea :) I graduated from ASU in May 2020 with a degree in psychology. I have worked with kids of all ages ever since I was 14 years old. I have done babysitting for family and family friends. I worked in the Chandler Unified School district in a before and after school program for kids. I was the lead teacher for a preschool which also had an infant room, so I would care for infants. :) Currently I am a care coordinator for a company that works with clients who have developmental disabilities.
