I’m a Loving Wife, Mother and a Fun Grandma who believes in education and early hands on learning. A child is never too young to be read to and I love singing nursery rhymes with them. I raised 3 Amazing and Successful children who are now in their late 30's and early 40's and I have 7 Wonderful grandchildren. Both of my sons are Firefighters and my daughter is a director at Microsoft. I worked in the Medical Field for over 35 years before I quit in October of 2020 to homeschool two of my grandchildren due to Covid19. I enjoyed it so much that I decided not to go back to work in the medical field and instead take up childcare and volunteer work at my grandson's elementary school. I am Christian woman that is a nondrinker and nonsmoker. My hobbies are gardening and traveling. Because I like to travel so much I am unable to nanny full time. We travel 3 to 4 times a year and are gone 2 to 4 weeks at a time. I would love to babysit your little one/ones on an as needed basis, when you need a date night or have errands/appointments during the day and/or if your nanny gets sick, takes vacation or has an emergency. I retired early to enjoy being a grandma after raising five children as a single parent. Now I have nine grandchildren with another on the way. I babysit my grandchildren as needed from newborn to eight years old. Each gets special attention based on their personalities and learning styles. My youngest kids are twenty nine year old twins, so life was busy when they were younger. They all went to co-op preschools and I was able to take ECE classes at the local community college as well. All five are now grown and successful. I believe children learn through play and spend my time with them doing just that while making sure they are safe, comfortable, and well-cared for. My husband and I enjoy travel, so I’d love to be your backup sitter, last minute substitute, date night sitter, or the one you can call when you just need a break to run errands hands free. My hobbies include caring for my many chickens (and a couple of roosters), playing with and walking my two dogs Porter the chocolate lab and Hank the golden retriever, quilting, gardening, beekeeping, and baking. Howdy! My childcare career began about twelve years ago as a weekly volunteer and eventually as lead teacher at my church in San Antonio, Texas. It was there I met families that would become my very first clients. As time went by, my business grew fruitfully! I also began substitute teaching at ECC and elementary schools, including in special needs classrooms. In 2019, I returned to school to complete my bachelor’s degree in accounting. The last three summers I’ve been a camp counselor in Arizona and loved it! My favorite days at camp were swim days, I used to be a swimmer and the pool was fun for the kids. From this experience, I learned a lot more from my campers than I expected to. For instance, on a trampoline field trip, a bunch of my campers taught me to front flip (I didn’t have much say in the matter but I’m still glad they encouraged me) I am first aid/CPR certified as well and have experience with children who have disabilities. I have a sister with a disability (CDLS) and grew up helping take care of her. In Arizona I received article 9 training and have a finger print card. I currently go to college in California and am working towards being a nurse practitioner.
