I currently work as a Pre -K teacher and have been working with children for about 7 years. I work with children of all ages, from 3months up to 10 years old. I do have experience working with children with special needs, such as Autism, Down Syndrome, and ADHD. As well as experience with children that have dealt with behavior issues, such as emotional distress, and anger outbursts. Hi my name is Melanie I’ve been around little kids my whole life. I am the first child in my family which came with many responsibilities like caring and looking out for my baby cousins (girls/ boys), sisters and our family pets( cats/dogs/ hamsters)! Making sure there was always fun and safe activities ahead of us as well as a good snacks/meals. Now that a lot of my cousins and sisters are older I am very thankful to say that I was a big part of their childhood and was able to teach them so much. I have been a volunteer at my local church for 5 years over the weekends where I am a T.A and work with kids ages 5-11. I have also been an explorer with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department for 6 years now and we work with teenagers ages 13-21. We educate them in law enforcement as well as teaching them responsibility, team work, CPR/ first aid and most importantly how to have fun and make long lasting friends! I was a gymnast for 5 years and a volunteered coach for 2 years where I worked with toddlers over the weekends! This was something very heart warming to me because I was able to share and teach them and their parents a sport I am very passionate about! I have always had a love for kids that’s why one day I hope and pray to have kids of my own!

I previously worked for Ventura County of Education for special needs children of all ages and just completed a 10mo hire as a nanny of a now 18mo old Chinese girl. Her parents are now putting her in childcare as there was a 18mo and up rule. I have a current CPR/safety training certificate in both infant and adult care. I have been background checked, fingerprinted and now certified/registered with the California department of Social Services Care provider management bureau. I have a certified DMV driving history report. I have been TB tested. I'm completely comfortable with animals of any kind.
