I know how to cook, play pretend, play tag, hide and seek, visit the local swimming pool, swim, teach swimming, read favorite books, take lots of pictures, bird watch, go on day trips, visit museums, the zoo and the list goes on. Being a kid at heart really helps to connect with children. I rarely meet a child who doesn't like me!

I ran 43 daycares for 16 years on the East Coast and was a nanny both in Maryland and in California after the selling of the daycares. I have also taught swimming, art, and dance to young children. I developed the curriculum for the daycares and trained the teaching staff. I have worked with thousands of children over a long career and still receive Christmas cards for children that are now in high school and college. I have over 2000 hours of Early childhood education and am a member of multiple teaching websites and stay up to date on current changes and teaching methods. I have been certified in CPR and first aid for years and have used it successfully in an emergency situation. I completed a class in CPR and First aid in May 2020 at the College of San Mateo and have been certified for many years. I am up to date on current trends such as Baby-led weening and other new techniques. I maintain a log so that the parents know what is happening with their young children. The log includes food and milk intake, diaper activity, nap length, and any observations that need to be passed on. I also take children to parks and pools or other activities. I am vaccinated and Covid careful. I also have multiple references from my past nanny positions. I have a pre-school and art program that I have developed and use currently. I enjoy working with children and building their confidence using music and art. I like to include active learning exercises that keep the children engaged. Singing is a constant part of my day-to-day interaction with the children I care for. I have 5 large Rubbermaid containers filled with games, art supplies, pre-school lessons and a storyboard with many different stories. All geared to develop confidence and build their learning capabilities. My rate is based not only on the market rate but hours and needs. When you hire me you are getting a professional that also becomes part of the family. I am currently looking for a position that is no less than 20 hours and no more than 40 hours a week. If you would like to hire me but don't have a total of 32 hours I am open to a salary amount that pays at the 32-hour rate when under the needed hours. I request five days of paid sick leave, two weeks of paid vacation the first year. Guaranteed salary based on the minimum hours.
