Hello! It's Ayla here. I am just entering my final year in my undergraduate degree, over in Canada in Natural Resources Conservation and am home now in NJ for the foreseeable future. After I graduate, I am looking to get my Bachelor's of Education, specializing in Elementary and Middle Years. A quick rundown: I speak English, Polish, and French fluently. I am CPR Infant/Child/Adult and First Aid Certified. I am a proficient swimmer. Goofing off and playing around is my passion! My philosophy is: messy hands are learning hands. I've worked with a bunch of kids over the last six years. I started by working and lesson planning at a preschool, with a ratio of 1 teacher: 10 students aged 2.5 to 6 years. I helped out in the curriculum writing of our then-newly integrated STEM learning strategies. We were a play-based preschool, so for me, every opportunity is a learning opportunity (even if the kiddos don't know it)! My last position involved giving live educational presentations to children and their ferries about the ocean's critters found in the Pacific. I dealt with every demographic imaginable. I have extensive experience with the special needs community. In the preschool, in my second and third years there, I was a one-to-one aide to a student with a sensory processing disorder. In addition, my first nannying job was to a family with two lovely little girls, ages 7 and 9 at the beginning, with special needs (ODD and autism). Casually, I volunteered at a hippotherapy stable to assist with riding and grooming lessons that were made accessible to mental and/or physical requirements. Given my degree, I absolutely love to be outside. In my last family, we often traveled together, played outside, or swam in the pool together. I was on a swim team for five years and am comfortable supervising kids in water (both in pools and the ocean). I have a valid NJ driver's license and access to a personal vehicle, ready to go to commute back and forth between my residence and yours. Unfortunately, I will not be considering live-in positions. **In regards to COVID-19, I have been safely physically distancing since March, as have all of the members of my household. My first priority is to keep everyone in each other's vicinity safe, so any precautions you wish me to take, I fully support.**

Hi! I have been a caretaker of children since I was 8 years old when I started raising my baby brother, who is now 16. I enjoy working with kids because they bring such interesting opinions and personalities to an otherwise dull world. I was a residential camp counselor for 4 years, including during the pandemic. I have also worked in the classroom as a TA for K-8 students in Los Angeles and as a high school English teacher for freshmen in Washington, DC. I love being a sitter because it is essentially 1-1 camp counseling, which has been my favorite job yet. I have also worked with children with special needs and in a foster home for teens who are pregnant and/or parenting. I am preparing to start a graduate program to earn a Master's in Social Work, so I have flexible hours. In addition to watching your kiddos, I can also cook, clean, and tutor, as well as take care of your fur babies. I foster cats and have two cats and two dogs of my own. I love being a babysitter because I love being with kids and helping them learn and grow.
