I am 40 years old and began nannying professionally at age 18. My first family, whom I still maintain occasional contact with, helped to both make me the person I am today, and inspired me to pursue nannying as a career. I have experience with children of all ages, newborn through teens, as wheel as with multiples and special needs. I am experienced and comfortable with traveling both domestically and internationally with families. I studied Child Development and Early Childhood Special Education during my time in college, and though I never obtained my degree, that is not representative of my talent as a child care provider. I prefer to take a very flexible approach to child care, and while I believe structure is very important to every child's growth and development, I respect that every child has unique needs, and the shape of that structure will likewise be unique. I Read more place particular importance on teaching communication skills as early as possible, especially emotional language. I believe in always beginning with love and kindness. During the pandemic and various lockdowns, I have taken all precautions, and have been diligent about hand washing, mask wearing, regular testing, and social distancing. I am more than willing to continue upholding these safe practices with my new family, for all of our health and safety. I am also up to date on my vaccinations, receive my flu vaccine every year, and recently received the Covid vaccine. I have previously been certified in adult and infant CPR and First-Aid, and plan to recertify as soon as the world health situation has improved and I feel safe doing so. My most recent certification expired while I was living overseas, and I was unable to re-certify before the current situation. In my free time, outside of my personal hobbies, I strive towards continued professional development via conferences, reading, and taking in person and online courses. Being a childcare professional is not just my career, it is my passion. I find great joy is exploring the world with children and watching them progress on their journey into who they will become. I am originally from Chicago, but have also worked in the Bay Area and overseas as a Nanny and House Manager, and am willing to relocate anywhere within the United States for the right family and position.
