My first paid babysitting job started when I was 11 years old, and I started caring for my 5 week old cousin in my aunt’s workplace with her. As the baby became more mobile, I began caring for her in the home while my aunt worked, and at 12, I was working as an after-school babysitter for her 5 and 7 year old brothers, as well. This is a hands-on approach to teaching reading and spelling, and I would love to expand my experience to include working with more children with special needs. I also currently do a lot of animal rescue volunteer- primarily involving the care of sick and neonatal kittens. I’m comfortable with cameras in the home, and have no problem with pets in the home. As a nanny, the pets were often included in our day, and some would even tag along to school pick up with us, the park, etc. I’ve been cpr/first aid certified in the past, including infant certification, but my certification is not current at this time.
