In the past, I have volunteered and worked as a child care attendant at the Shasta Family YMCA for over two years as well as been employed as a behavior technician for children with developmental disabilities. My responsibilities at the YMCA included greeting the parents and children in a positive manner as they entered they room. I was also responsible for supervising and interacting with the children from the ages of six weeks to 12 years while they did arts and crafts, played outside, etc. I am certified in CPR and First Aid with an emphasis in pediatrics. I love working in childcare because I have a passion for working with kids and hoping to inspire them to have fun, have a positive outlook on life, and to pursue what they are passionate about in life. I’ve had the opportunity to be a summer camp counselor for two summers and I enjoy working with kids of various ages. I have always enjoyed being a positive person in someone else’s life. I love to sing and a dance and be silly. I’m a great reader and love reading books to littles. I don’t have a lot of experience meal prepping outside of formal camp duties but I would welcome the opportunity to take on a more leadership role in that arena. Hi my name is Taryn I'm currently enrolled at Shasta college taking 18 units, including ECE type classes, & hoping to transfer in the next year to go to Chico for liberal studies. I originally wanted to major in zoology because I love animals, so the more animals you have the better! I spend a lot of time with my golden retriever puppy going on walks & hikes. When I'm not doing that I work at Jamba Juice as a manager or I love making anything artsy. I especially love ceramics & painting. I'm hoping to find a nanny job so I can move on from Jamba since I've worked there for almost 2 years! Also I volunteer Tuesday mornings to help out for my Bible Study Fellowship where I'm in charge of 13 kids ages from infants-5 with one or 2 assistants. I have only baby sat outside of my family a few times, but I'm the 2nd oldest of all my cousins so I've grown up around a lot of young family members.
