Kathleen’s Bio

I am currently a full-time Nanny for infant twins who are hearing impaired T-F. I am available anytime Monday, Saturday and Sundays. I am also avaiavle for evenings after 530 depending on travel time from Denver. I am a Certified Special Education Teacher with 15 years experience running classrooms for children from toddlers to adults in school settings, daycare environments (Montessori based), and tutoring.  During these years I have always worked part time as a nanny and/ or babysitter for families, some as long back as college who's children are themsrlces enteting college now. I've worked with children required extra special care due to severe to moderate cognitive delays, mild physical disabilities, chemotherapy treatments,  ASD, Diabetes, non-verbal communication, and severe allergies. I have excellent current references from families that I worked for and have known
me for 10+ years, often from the time their children where infants until middle school aged.  I have been a nanny for twin girls (twice) as well as for newborn babies, premies and multiples. I've worked nanny shares as well as for families with a large number of children.  Additionally over time I have developed close enough relationships with my families for them to be comfortable enough to leave their children with me for extended weekends, overnights and even week long "adult getaways". Two of my past families have allowed their daughters to fly solo from NJ to CO to spend vacations with me. I love animals as well and am willing to work in households with dogs, cats, birds or reptiles.  I like large animals as well but am a bit shy around horses despite having conducted hippo therapy alongsideseversl of my long term students. I am also a licensed teacher, Wilson reading specialist and have CPR/first aid training.  I love to be outdoors, swim, go to parks, museums and the zoo.  I am very creative and love to be "messy" with kids. I will try just about anything- love putting on "shows" and "plays", painting, cooking, coloring, etc.   I can cook well (though personally am a vegetarian I make a mean meatball and great chicken) but love to involve the kids in baking, shopping and planning meals.  I am enthusiastic and outgoing and have a good sense of humor.  It's hard to get me frustrated and most people describe me as easy going, organized, clean, neat, calming and happy. I look forward to making new connections and friends.
