I love seeing the excitement and pure joy in children’s faces over the simplest things. There is nothing like the belly laugh of a child to brighten someone’s day! I worked with three families in the past. One had three children- one year, thee years old and six years old (when I started). The second family had one child who was one. I watched her while my own son was an infant. That afforded me the ability to stay home with him longer and for the family to have a “one on one” sitter. The third family had an infant, but quickly grew to a family of four ten months later. For four years (part time weekends), I took care of their two children who are 10 months apart from the time they were infants until school age. I have worked in the medical field for 30+ years in positions as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), home health aid, medical assistant, research coordinator and behavioral health coach. My most notable and favorite job has been being mom to my two (almost) grown sons. I miss peek-a-boo, reading stories, rocking in a rocking chair, playing outside, doing arts and crafts and even helping with homework.
