I recently began working in before and after school child care in Iowa (where I got all my necessary certificates to work with children), but the pay and hours are inconsistent. I like being a child care provider because I find it easy and fulfilling. Children are just smaller people who are learning about and experience life and the world for the first time, so if you slow down and interact with them on their level and from their perspective they're pretty easy to get along with. My goal in pursuing jobs like this is to find more financial stability, but still have time to be present for my children's childhoods.
