A life-long Chicago resident, I have been a paid sitter since I was a teen, have three children of my own, am the eldest of six siblings and was a Girl Scout leader in Rogers Park/Skokie for 10 years (was CPR/first aid certified annually during this time). In my capacity as a GS Leader, I was trusted the care of numerous children on a bi-weekly basis, overnight camping weekends and international travel. I am punctual, patient, and genuinely enjoy caring for children. I am an active person, having participated in a Ragnar 200+ mile relay race, and continue to run 10k and half marathon events regularly. I am completely comfortable with infants, toddlers and school age children, as well as multiple siblings. For several years, I was registered/certified with the state to be a respite caregiver for children on the autism spectrum. I have a commitment with another family on Sunday mornings, but am otherwise available weeknights and weekends day/evening/night. I take caring for your child/children seriously, and also that of our working relationship! Bookings agree to these terms: Mon-Thurs minimum hours paid is 2.5 hrs. Friday/Saturday/Sunday minimum hours paid is 4 hours. Booking is payable for agreed upon duration even if you come home early. Late arrivals after agreed upon time is 1.5X the agreed upon rate. I've been a nanny/babysitter since I was 18. I'm now 35 years old and I have a 6 (almost 7) year old son. I've always enjoyed interacting with kids and caring for them. My son has been going to work with me since he was 1.5 years old and he loves it. It's like a playdate for him and the other children. He's very social and well mannered. My most recent work was for a family in Lincolshire who had 2 little girls ages 2.5 and 5 when I started. I was with the from Jan 2023-Aug 2024. Prior to them I was with a family in Texas who have 2 little girls. They were ages 2.5 years old and 5 months old when I started. I worked for a year with them. I have other references from Illinois as well. My son used to go to work with me and I was lucky to find families who were kind enough to allow that. Now he is in school all day so its not longer a neccesity but I still would like to find families who wouldnt mind if i needed to for all the random days off of school, however I know it's not for everyone so I would understand and have care for him. I've cared for all ages from 6 weeks old to 14 years. I've also worked in a daycare in the infant room and toddler room. Helping to care for 12-20 kids at once. I enjoy doing crafts with the kids and going outside. I have my own reliable car and am non smoking. I also enjoy taking care of pets so if you have any that's not a problem. I've dogsat for families as well. I've taken care of up to 4 kids at once alone. I also organize so if you need help with that I would love to. Updated availability!!
