Hi, I'm Sam! Watching over and playing with kids is a true passion. Being an outgoing and cheery person really makes children feel comfortable with me. I've studied singing, dance and performing for many years and that has all come to help me better engage with every child I've ever cared for. As the oldest of three kids, I've regularly been tasked with driving them to events and running the house when my parents are out. Some of my most recent positions have been during the school year, nannying two grade-school age boys. This included picking them up from school, completing homework, making snacks and playing with them. I also watched over a toddler and preschooler a couple summers ago. I was responsible for making them breakfast and lunch, putting them down for naps, playing outside with them (walks, bike rides, going to the park, etc.), and driving them to hockey practice. this past summer I watched over 2 kids. One being a toddle and one in elementary school. I was responsible for bringing them to and from activities. I would bring them places like the playground, water parks, the movies, etc. I also volunteer at the YMCA so I’ll go to in elementary school and watch the children after until her parents pick them up. I also teach a dance class for children at the YMCA. I love the outdoors (when it’s warm enough) so I prefer to keep the children I watch active as opposed to sitting in front of a screen all day. I am currently a student at Indiana State University studying Psychology. I plan to open my own private practice to help women and men who go through domestic abuse and other things that may cause trauma. I would love the opportunity to help you out!

I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and I am a BACB certified Registered Behavior Technician. In addition to many different babysitting experiences, I have worked with children and teenagers of all functioning levels that have Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as individuals with Down Syndrome. I have worked with many nonverbal children, and have moderately developed skills in ASL. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Psychology, and hope to continue working with clients that have special needs to help ensure the that the best care is being provided for those who need it most, while also allowing flexibility for parents to do the things they enjoy most. I am CPR and First Aid certified as well. I also have a love for animals and have experience working with birds, cats, dogs, hamsters, and guinea pigs from both personal experience as well as volunteering at the Humane Society.
